Holiday Bundle of Events

This December, add a spark of joy to your holidays with events and programs that celebrate the spirit of the season. Whether you’re looking for activities to feed your soul (or your belly), opportunities to give back, or new ways to enjoy time with friends and family, we’ve got options for you.

Now through the New Year
Bronco Business Registry
Don’t just shop local, shop Bronco! If you have gifts to buy for the holidays, why not support a Bronco Business? From wine to wellness and everything in between, you can find a perfect present and help a fellow alumnus, too.

November 29 - December 24
Waiting in Joyful Hope: Daily Advent Prayers
This Advent season, embark on a spiritual journey alongside members of the Jesuit School of Theology and the SCU community. Receive daily reflections in your inbox throughout Advent as we await the coming of our Savior.

December 3, 5 – 6:30 p.m.
Garden Gifts for the Holidays
The Forge Garden’s annual holiday event has moved online this year! Bring your own hot cocoa and join us for an evening of sustainable crafting. Be a smart consumer and learn how you can give great gifts without impacting the earth. We will demonstrate a variety of gifts using natural materials that can be made in your own home. Your friends and family will thank you!

December 5, 5 p.m.
SCU Presents: Festival of Lights
In its 17th year, the SCU Choirs will, again, kick-off the holiday season at Santa Clara with a beautiful evening of music that will bring you joy and peace during the hectic month of December. With renaissance motets, contemporary carols, and an evening ending in candlelight and the singing of Silent Night in the beautifully decorated Mission Santa Clara, there is no better way to experience the Holidays.

December 9, 5 - 6 p.m.
Holiday Cookie Decorating with Nox Cookies
Join us for a holiday cookie decorating session where you’ll learn tips and tricks for making bright, fun sweets to enjoy with your loved ones! If you’re local to Santa Clara, we will have an option for you to purchase and pick up your cookie decorating kit directly from our Bronco expert, Nathan Pendleton ’85 at his award-winning business, Nox Cookie Bar. Otherwise, you will receive a list of materials to purchase prior to our event - so that everyone is able to follow along and decorate as we learn from Nathan and his baker!

December 11, 4 – 6:30 p.m. THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT!
Santa Claus is Coming to Zoom!
No waiting in line to visit Santa this year! Santa will come to you virtually. Sign up for a private visit with Santa where your children can share their Christmas wish list. Before, or after your visit, enjoy some favorite Christmas stories read by some of Santa’s helpers. Space is limited.

December 13, 1 - 2 p.m.
Project Linus
Make a blanket and donate it for kids in need. Project Linus San Jose Chapter coordinator, Sharon Lee, will show how to make a few different no-sew and easy-to-sew blankets.

Alumni are encouraged to have their blanket supplies ready and start making their own blankets to donate to the Project Linus Chapter in their area. After her demonstration, Sharon will stay on the Zoom as alumni begin their own blankets and answer questions.

When you register for this event, you will receive blanket instructions and where to purchase your blanket supplies.

December 15, 4 – 5:30 p.m.
Advent Mini Retreat
Take time to pause and reflect on the true meaning of Advent. Fr. Jack Treacy ’77 will help us to take a break from the holiday season rush and remind us of the reason for the season. Join alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends at this mini retreat and take time to listen, reflect, and share Advent’s blessings and joy.

This offering is a joint collaboration with the Alumni Association, The Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education, Campus Ministry, The Jesuit School of Theology, and the Graduate Program in Pastoral Ministries.

December 16, 5 p.m.
Catala Club Cocktails and Holiday Party
Wear your favorite festive wear as we ring in the holidays together! Use your Catala Club cocktail package to share a cocktail or mocktail, appetizer or whatever will bring you holiday cheer. All are welcome to join in on the fun - you don’t need to be a member to attend!

All donations will be split between the Santa Clara Catala Club Endowed Scholarship Fund and the SCU Student Food Insecurity Program/Bronco Pantry.
