Jalen Williams Named Western Conference Rookie of the Month

OKLAHOMA CITY, Dec. 1, 2022 – Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jalen Williams was named Western Conference Rookie of the Month for games played in October and November, it was announced today by the NBA.

Williams has appeared in 18 games (seven starts) for the Thunder and averaged 10.7 points (5th among rookies) on 52.4 percent shooting to go along with 3.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists (4th among rookies) in 25.1 minutes per game.

After Josh Giddey won four Rookie of the Month awards during the 2021-22 season, Thunder rookies have now captured the award in five of the past six months. Williams becomes the third Thunder rookie to win Rookie of the Month honors.

During last night’s 119-111 Thunder victory versus San Antonio, Williams led Oklahoma City with a career-high 27 points on 11-of-15 shooting (2-of-3 3FGs).

Williams was selected 12th overall by the Thunder in the 2022 NBA Draft after earning All-WCC First Team honors during his junior season at Santa Clara University.
