SAN MATEO, Calif. – A record number of 1,805 student-athletes from the West Coast Conference were recognized on the 2022-23 WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll for balancing academic and athletic success. Santa Clara had a total of 203 student-athletes honored with 43 earning Gold honors, 64 earning Silver and 96 Bronze. The Broncos' tally was the third-highest among the 10-team league. This is the 11th consecutive Honor Roll featuring more than 1,000 WCC student-athletes collecting honors for possessing at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Gold distinction is for a GPA between 3.75 to 4.0; silver 3.50 to 3.74; bronze 3.00 to 3.49.
Only grades earned at WCC institutions may be used in calculating the grade point average for this award. To be considered for this honor, student-athletes must meet the following requirements:
1) Individuals must have earned a varsity letter in a sport which the conference determined a champion in the recently completed academic year.
2) The cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 must be based on a 4.0 scale.
3) The individuals must have successfully completed an average of at least 12 graded credit hours (non pass-fail hours) per term.
